The spark to Inspired Wish

I was scrolling through photos on my memory stick today and decided to share the story that sparked the journey that is Inspired Wish. I feel like I should start this story with a cliché line…

Once Upon a Time, there was a girl called Jeanie. She found her knight in shining armour and they said 'I do' before friends and family. All was good in the world. But she felt drab and wanted to look pretty. Now this usually involved some hair dye to do the trick. But Jeanie had worked hard at getting fit leading up to her big day and craved something more. In the past a magazine photo taken to the hairdresser would result in mishaps and failures. She knew the answer had to be somewhere. She searched high, and she searched low. She searched far and wide.

Then one day, she found Imogen. Imogen was like a fairy god mother, she waved her wand and hey presto the dull was gone. Jeanie lived fabulously ever after.
My before & after photos,
using my day job profile pics (taken a few weeks apart).
You can't even tell I'm wearing accessories in the first pic,
I didn't know what suited me.

With dullsville gone, I focused on the pretty part by adding accessories to my look. I've never really liked mass produced jewellery. Why pay good money for something that doesn’t *feel special*. So I started learning how to make my own. I was hooked, I loved to create beautiful things to wear. Things quickly snow balled into the wonderful journey that is Inspired Wish today. There's no looking back I'm having too much fun.

I love that Imogen doesn't 'do make overs'.

Imogen prefers to educate her clients, so that I have a hope of continuing to look my best every day, instead of just for a day. It's fabulous what a little knowledge can do!

Dullsville vs Fabulous

  • I was previoulsy wearing warm make up. I'm a cool person. EEKkkk is right!! Now my make up suits me.
  • I shop understanding that my dress style is 'relaxed' with a hint of 'creative'. No more wasted purchases.
  • I sometimes feel a bit like a magician - I direct your attention to here and here, whilst disguising something over there.
  • In short, I learnt a lot of useful information!

When searching high, low, far and wide I discovered these three inspirational gems...

Forever grateful to Imogen http://www.insideoutstyleblog.com/
From her bio; Imogen Lamport created Bespoke Image with a clear mission – to help people look amazing every day without stress and confusion.

Check out Sally http://www.alreadypretty.com/
From her bio; My primary mission is to show that body knowledge gained through explorations of personal style can foster self-love and self-respect.

Look up Audi http://www.geekthreads.blogspot.com/
From her bio; I work in an environment where fashion takes a back seat to... well, everything. Since stylish clothing in a company full of scientists is a bit like pearls before swine, I decided to create this blog, where perhaps my daily efforts can be more thoroughly appreciated.

Audi is the reason I purchased my Malibran John Fluevogs shoes in purple instead of black. I wear them often!

Thank you Audi for inspiring me to be brave with colour.
My ankles/calves are slim, so I draw attention there with bright shoes.
(Never mind my lack of waist line, check out my legs!)

Check out Audi's post called Shabby. The six pictures at the bottom shows why I admire her so much. The way she can style an item of clothing in various ways is nothing short of awesome.
