Botox. Would you go there? Why I did.

Botox. Would you? I never thought I would. Why subject myself to something movie stars are mocked for? And yet I did. The answer is fairly simple. It started with not finding Mr Right until my mid thirties. He was worth the wait! By the time we were ready to say 'I DO' I had collected a few laugh lines.

My bridesmaid, Mum and Aunt were interstate. I photographed or scanned everything and emailed them the photos. Probably a little too often (sorry about that). I shared everything. From shoes I liked, to hairstyles I was considering. I sent regular Mood Board updates. Where was Pinterest in 2008!

Looking at the makeup and hair trial photos, those wrinkles bugged the heck out of me! Botox crossed my mind more than once. I wanted my wedding photos to rock! You've probably guessed by now. I did botox for the wedding photos. I didn't tell anyone (well, just my personal trainer at the time). I just did it. I didn't want anyone to try and talk me out of it.

Trial #2 was a success. Thank you Masci Hair & Spa Eltham.

This makeup trial left me with a cranky face!
How is this natural looking? Fail.

If you're wondering, hang about Jeanie. The first photo with a natural look is great. Why did you waste good money on botox?!

I don't regret getting a little help for my big day. The photos are awesome. A huge thank you to our photographer Keith from Creative Edge Photography.

Been there done that advice...

Botox injections cause bruising. In the consultation prior the injection, I was told bruising some times happens. Then when it did, I was told 'oh that nearly always happens'. Expect some bruising.

I had a story ready. I was going to tell the folk at work that I bumped into the kitchen cabinet door at home. And I was going to tell my fiance the same story, but that it happened at work. No one asked. Phew, which was good, cause I really suck at lying.

Also, one side stayed smooth for quiet a while. It seemed odd. I would smile and have crows feet only on one side of my face. Hmm. Wonder if anyone other than me noticed?

Oh, and my husband didn't know I had botox until I mentioned it to someone in conversation (a year later). Which probably goes to show I shouldn't bother with that again. I did it for the wedding photos. That was enough.

Have you done botox? Would you? And Why?
