Aussie Curves - Celebrity Copycat

This weeks Aussie Curves challenge really was challenging. Celebrities tend to be well groomed and immaculate. Celebrities are made. They are fussed over by a team of people. I decided I would at least attempt to copy the make up and hair style of a celebrity. Maybe even the photography style. This would be a challenge because I don't tend to fuss with tricky makeup application or fancy hair styles.

Isn't Adele adorable. I wish I had her big lips! To copy her look I applied 'Jessica lashes' by Glam Eyes Manicare. I picked those up for $12 at Priceline. Having Trichotillomania my lashes are thin and sparse. I looooved this long full look. I think I could get used to applying these more often. Mr Inspired paid me a little more attention whilst I was dressed as Adele.

Adele is well groomed, not a brow hair out of place. She has an amazing complexion and gorgeous dramatic eyes. Adele's wears her hair big. Even when it's 'messy', it looks stylishly designed. Adele's accessories are minimal. She leans towards feminine and elegant earrings.

Adele wears fitted, tailored clothes. That's the best way to make your clothes look flattering. Make sure they fit your shape. Her garments tend to have similar neck lines. Feminine without flashing her cleavage. Refreshing for a singer.

What I love most about Adele, is her body confidence. She's curvy and she's okay with that. She's talented, stylish and stunning! What's not to love!

If you follow me on facebook (you do don't you?) you would have read I went op shopping this week. This shirt was purchased for Aussie Curves. It cost a whole $7. You don't need a huge wardrobe budget and expensive clothes to join Aussie Curves. You just have to be a size 14 or larger and living in Australia or New Zealand. Just sayin.

In case it's not obvious, I used a hair extension to give my hair extra length and body. My hair was not long enough for the bun without it. I bought it in 2009 for my wedding. It cost a small fortune at $200, but it is well made. I can take it to the hairdressers to be coloured, and can heat style it.

I wonder if I didn't show you a comparison, or name the celebrity, if you would've picked it? This weeks challenge was the hardest so far, but fabulous fun. I should fuss over my look more often!

    1. Thanks, I'm loving the do too! That was the easy bit. Add the hair extension and hey presto it looked styled. I didn't fuss with a hair drier or hot irons. I really am a lazy dresser at the best of times LOL

    1. I was stuck without the Op shop score! I knew the neckline I wanted and was searching for that. Yay to finding it at $7! I found one op shop I loved, I'll be back often. I do love me a bargain.

    1. Thanks Amanda. I am loving the bun. I think that will be repeated again. I bought the biggest bun sock I could find. Turns out my natural hair is too short for it. That's motivation to grow my hair longer.

    1. Thanks Omega. I wish I wasn't such a lazy dresser, I'd wear eye make up like this every day! Once the photos were downloaded I didn't want to take it off. I strutted around the house for a few more hours wearing this.

  7. Beautiful! Those lashes look really natural too. I wouldn;t have picked that you were wearing any.

Knowing that top was from an Op Shop makes me itch to go check some out. My sister, Mum and I have decided to make an op shop trek during the school holidays. I am on the hunt for a denim jacket :D

    1. Funny to read you thought the lashes were natural. My natural lashes were tiny when I held these up to my eye lids! They look fantastic in the photos though. Good luck finding your demin jacket. I'm sure you'll find heaps. Finding the right size is the tricky bit.

    1. Thank you! I'm still surprised the photos turned out so great. It can be tricky knowing how much makeup is too much. Apparently not an issue when it comes to photos and lighting. The more the better.

    1. Thanks Dani. These styles have motivated me to grow my hair longer. I love the bun on others but find it odd on myself. I'm determined to wear my hair like that more often so I get used to it. $7 I now right, bargain!

    1. Thank you. The pink jumper is a tad too small for me at the moment. I adore the colour and feel so I've hang onto it. I've fallen for buns, they're great. Especially messy buns, stunning.

    1. Thanks Melissa. I had a few photos on my ipad for when I was doing my makeup. Made sense to pick it up in front of the camera. I actually struggled with not smiling in the photos. It's hard to do that look. My mouth naturally looks like it's frowning, which is bad in photos.

    1. Thanks Bek. My eyes are blue, sometimes green, depending on what I'm wearing. I think the layers of eye liner and shadow have helped them pop! Oh I wish I had time (& the skill) to pull off those eyes every day LOL.
