Aussie Curves - Skirts

I heart skirts in a big way. As I explore my style, shorter and brighter skirts are making an appearance in my wardrobe. I have found skirts are much kinder to an ever changing waist line (with their stretchy waist bands). I also love how short skirts highlight my slender legs!

What I don't love, is the thigh friction that goes with wearing a skirt. Ouch to thigh chafing! This is the reason why I love to wear tunics and leggings. Secret spilled how I avoid chub-rub during winter. With the aim of showing more leg this summer, I want to wear skirts more often.

Sunday I returned from a weekend away. I spent a glorious 3 nights at Mantra on Salt near the QLD/NSW border in Kingscliff. By the time I arrived at the Sunshine Coast airport I could feel a slight burn between my legs. No, there was nothing passionate about that sting. As soon as I arrived at the Mantra room I slipped on a pair of Easy Breezy shorts that Virtu sent me to trial.

On first impressions the material is thick. I also wondered if I would need them to be shorter. I liked the soft feel of the cotton (95%). After a weekend of wearing them, what is the verdict?

I love them! Majority of the time I forgot I even had them on. I asked my husband did he ever notice them. He said only when we were on the beach and the wind caught my dress (it was reeeeally windy all weekend). Sorry I didn't think to flash the shorts for the camera.

    1. Thanks, the photos were a challenge. Lots of wind, sand and water. Both the bottom of my skirt got wet, along with my camera bag. Thankfully it is water proof and the zip was closed.

  2. Absolutely gorgeous Jeanie! That skirt is a great length for you. I hear you on the chub-rub...thank goodness for spanx. Beautiful location for photos this week.

    1. Thanks Lisa. The skirt has a black band, I tucked that back to hide it under the white shirt. It also made the skirt a bit shorter for me. I often find myself pulling my skirts up higher than my waist line LOL.

  3. oh your nail colour was the perfect contrast to your skirt colour. I ALWAYS wear tights underneath....my Momma said I must never wear a skirt without it. Lol that has stuck with me since I was a little girl...but I love the freedom they provide. I don't have to be extra careful not to flash and I can jump over seats and climb around without any worries.

    More skirts, more skirts!!!!

    1. Thanks, yes the nail colour is great. It's my fav colour at the moment =)

That was one thing I found with those shorts. When climbing over seats I knew some flashing was unavoidable, the shorts made me less paranoid.

    1. Thanks Omega. The beach was awesome, best of all it was fairly quiet on the Friday arvo when I took these. Not many people about. I didn't feel so silly with my tripod and remote. By the end of this I was over sand LOL. I seemed to have carted a heap of it back with me to the room.

  5. Gorgeous Jeanie! Sitting around at home in some breezy shorts at this very second. Great under pencil skirts especially. Love this skirt on you and that white top is adorable.

Ahhh the beach. I LOVE the beach. Might have to schedule in a day trip sometime soon.

    1. Thanks Melissa. My breezy shorts are now in the wash. They'll be worn often. I love the pattern along the bottom of the top, that little extra peek of colour is cute. The beach, whilst I loved it, was over the sand. Sooo much sand. LOL. Not complaining, I loved it.

  7. Lovely colour combo, I love the cut out design on the bottom of the skirt. I'm right there with you on thigh chafing, I always wear bike pants under my skirts and dresses.

    1. Yeah that issue has been something I either put up with, or wore leggings. So glad to know there is the option to avoid it. The skirt I'm wear has a lovely texture to it. I love material that also feels nice to touch.
